"Hahahaha you've got backbone kid," Alkimos cackled, "but you're not the only one to have slain griffins and cyclops, nor tackle giants and sea monsters! You think those scars mean you're a good fighter!? No! Scars only serve to demonstrate that you were too slow or weak or stupid to defeat your enemy without them harming you!" he mocked Prochorus, "I only have one scar, obtained when I was but seven years old and just begun my trials, but never again has my body been so much as scratched!" he boasted, though debatable as to whether or not it was true, "if you wish to fight me, then step forward," Alkimos thrusted his spear forward, pointing it at Prochorus, goading him.

Prochorus' pride was getting in his way. He wanted to tell this son of Ares that he hadn't had the benefit of superhuman strength. He'd had to fight overwhelming odds.
He was tempted to step forward but his arm was giving out and he realised he couldn't beat this demigod. He was better trained, far stronger than he'd ever be. All he had was speed but he doubted Alkimos was slow. He'd be beaten. Why did it matter if he got this quest? He clenched his fists. It just... did.
"This isn't about who's the better fighter," he said through gritted teeth. "This is about who can lead this quest to save this goddess." He stepped forward, running up to a broken pillar and climbing up with his good arm so he towered above everyone.
"This is about Psyche! This is about saving the Olympians from Eros' wrath!" He cried. His dream, one he'd had the first night at camp, finally made sense.
"The dream was mine! This is my quest!"
(OOC; some of you may be getting some of these soon too.)

"But a leader needs to be strong and my strength is more than just physical!" Alkimos growled up at Prochorus, his spear still pointing at him, "you were barely strong enough to climb that pillar! And too cowardly to accept my challenge! You are weak boy! We need a strong leader for this! Someone like me!" Alkimos refused to back down from this, his pride and ego consuming him.
Stelios remained silent even if he was getting tired of listening to such a petty argument.

This argument is anything but petty. The fate of Olympus rests on this in all seriousness. Prochorus just set his jaw.
"I'm done arguing with you, son of Ares. Let the assembled decide."
(OOC; if anyone else wants to go for this feel free. Also, Stelios, you control the Ares and Aphrodite votes. Sophia, you control Demeter and Athena, Iason you take Apollo, Heppys, and I'll get Hermes and Dionysus. Obviously we'll have to wait for some of these posts tomorrow.)

"This isn't Athens boy! Come down here! We will fight for the honour!" Alkimos roared in protest. "No!" Smeme had had enough of this bickering, "this arguing is pointless and getting us nowhere, a vote is what is needed, it is much fairer," she decided. "You would say that, Athenian!" Alkimos growled. "Enough Alkimos! Don't make me put you back on your leash!" Smeme threatened, "it is decided, we will all vote on who we think should lead on this next quest." "Well my fellow brothers and sisters stand with me," Alkimos proclaimed proudly as he turned back and looked at the other children of Ares, including Stelios, expectantly. "No," Stelios said as he stepped forward, he too had had enough of Alkimos "I'm with the kid," he nodded up at Prochorus, "sons and daughters of Ares, you don't owe this brute any obligation, stand with who you think is best," he looked over at Androkles. "Y-yes," Androkles asserted himself, stepping forward if a little nervously. The other three children of Ares however, stayed true to their leader. "We're with the little cutie!" the head of the Aphrodite clan gleefully squealed as she frantically waved up at Prochorus and they each gave him a wink. "Well, that's eight votes to three in favour of Prochorus so far," Smeme summed up, "the rest of you?" "You two will regret this!" Alkimos growled through gritted teeth at Stelios and Androkles. "Careful Spartan, wouldn't want the Athenian to put you back on your leash now would you?" Stelios mocked him with a devilish smirk across his face.

Iason looked between the people with an eyebrow raised. 'Well, you all seem crazy to me. But I'd prefer to not follow a jacked up son of Ares. Prop has my vote. And I predicted part of this prophecy, so I'm going,' he said bluntly.

The Hermes children discussed it, and they hated the Ares son. Then again, this child was new...
"The new kid!" They decided, giving Alkimos a pointed look. The Apollo kids joined their Uniter of course but Hephaestus and Dionysus voted for the son of Ares arguing he was quite strong.

Smeme stepped forward. "No offence, Prochorus but I don't think this is your battle." She turned to Sophia, nestled at the back. "It's Sophia." She turned to Eurytus who nodded gravely, having finally accepted the great prophecy was coming. "We too had a prophecy from the Oracle. On that, I vote for Sophia to lead." The Athena siblings agreed with her, standing up and raising their weapons.
Hermes was in a mess, trying to figure out how to choose.
"She's a girl!" One shouted, before being beaten up by his cabin mates.

Sophia didn't realise what was happening at first. Then she saw all eyes staring at her and Smeme telling her something .
"Wait...you mean I am leading the quest. But why?", she asked.

Alkimos and the his three followers from the house of Ares were ready to riot!
"What!? First you insult me by having me take part in this parade of a democratic vote! Now you insult me further by nominating this girl! You test my patience Smeme! This girl is more green than the boy! She isn't even a warrior! She's an unclaimed nobody!" Alkimos roared in protest.
There was more grumbling amongst the others and the Aphrodite children gave Sophia a cold stare before flirtatiously smiling back up at Prochorus. Smeme seemed to have definitely split the camp now.
Stelios remained at the back, glancing between all the groups as they bickered. He was curious as to what Sophia's response would be.

Smeme smiled at Sophia. "Well, you're not leading it, yet. You've been nominated to lead the quest."
She turned to Alkimos and shook her head. "We always have deocratic votes for quests; we're not in Sparta, brute, no matter how much you'd like to believe that. And everyone is green at some point! The Oracle has faith in her and I do too!"

"Faith does not get things done, Athenian! The quest will not be completed by faith alone! You need experience, skill, actual leadership skills, strength! I possess all of those qualities! What does she have!? I should lead! Hands down! Why waste our time trying to promote these children!?" Alkimos continued to roar, becoming more and more aggressive in his tone.
Stelios kept a close eye on the Spartan brute.

Smeme laughed. "Faith doesn't get things done? Alkimos, our life is faith. I believe the only reason you survived the agoge was because you prayed regularly to your father, right? I know it was certainly the case for me! Like or not, our parents guide our lives! The Fates have a plan; don't be an atheist, Alkimos, because even for you, knowing what you do, that's stupid. Sophia will have people of experience around her! She's not doing this alone!"
Prochorus raised an awkward hand at the Aphrodite girls attentions. The gods really didn't want him to lead this quest. And maybe he wouldn't... his pride wouldn't be damaged in he willingly stepped aside. He could give Sophia the support she needed and she'd choose him to join her so he wouldn't miss out either...
Prochorus stepped down from his pillar and moved towards Sophia.
"Choose Sophia! Once upon a time I may have said I wasn't religious. But we're living proof the gods exist. Let's follow their will! Smeme says she had a prophecy that Sophia shall lead us? Then she shall! I was given a dream, one I am willing to act on in Sophia's stead. The mercenary was claimed by Ares! It's obvious he must join us! And Iason fortold the very prophecy we argue about. The group could not be clearer to me!"
Smeme stood up. "It is up to the leader to choose their companions. Let's stick to that now. But Athena stands with Sophia!"
Prochorus moved to the Hermes kids and had an intense discussion. He radiated authority despite being younger than some. It was Linos however, crazy Linos, who shrugged and said:
"I wouldn't mind watching dat ass!"
Everyone ignored his useless contribution and the Hermes kids sided for Sophia. Look, Prochorus had taken himself out and they despised Alkimos so that just left Sophia.

Sophia held her head high like a queen. She returned the cold stare of the Aphrodite daughters.
"I will prove to you that I can be a leader. I have worked really hard to be here and you should be careful how you speak to me", Sophia pointed at Alkimos. "Here we are all equals!"
She looked at Smeme expectantly.

"You are no equal of mine, girl!" Alkimos scoffed at Sophia, snarling at her.
All of the Aphrodite children sighed with disappointment as Prochorus stepped down. They didn't particularly like Sophia all that much it seemed. On the other hand, they weren't overly fond of Alkimos. After a rather lengthy discussion, they decided on siding with Alkimos as he was a man, had amazing abs, was more experienced and they didn't really like Sophia. Dem bitches be cray cray!
Seeing as though Prochorus was no longer in the running, Alkimos once again turned his attention to Stelios and Androkles, expecting them to now side with him. Ansrokles gave Stelios a sorry look as the young Argonian toed the line of his house. Stelios on the other hand remained silent and still, unsure what to do.
