The Woods

"Why?"

'Demigods!' Iolas called. He had stuffed his belly into his armour and looked immensely pleased as a result. 'The rules quickly! Silver aim for the north flag. Gold to the south. Then the first team to get their flag to the opposite side of the boundary.' He pointed to the stream they were camping near. 'Wins! Simple enough?' He started singing a bit. 'Simple like the streets of loveeee! What a Muses song!' he proclaimed to himself.

Iolas nodded. 'I'm pretty sure.'

He clapped his hands together. 'So teams: Ares, Apollo, Hephaestus, Aphrodite on Gold team! Stathis will be team captain! On the silver team, Hermes, Demeter, Athena and Dionysus. Smeme is team captain! So, maiming and killing is frowned upon! Dessert priviledge a will be lost for a day. Otherwise, I don't really care. Have fun! Get going you bunch of motherfu-' he paused and glanced at the sky. 'Do as Heracles would. Go!'

Smeme didn't answer but one of her siblings turned around.

"Yeah, but they need brains too, dumbass!" The rest of the Athena kids starting laughing as Smeme led Silver team forward.

Prochorus was led along by his team into the woods.

Stelios was surprised by the good leadership of the young son of Apollo. He was slightly amused by the fact that Stathis was able to stare down Alkimos.

Prochorus and Sophia were led through the woods by Smeme, crossing over a lake and continuing on until the air became a little darker, filled with noise, and small growls in the distance. The daughter of Athena stopped by the flag, emblazoned with a silver owl on a silvery-blue background. It was nestled on top of a pile of rocks, difficult to climb, which would make it harder for the other team to climb up.

Smeme gathered them round. "They have the advantage of archers and fighters. But they also have the Aphrodite children. Close you eyes and whack them. Think no chores, people. Dionysus, I want to see vine plants wrapped around the flag; they said it had to visible, not that we couldn't tie it down," she grinned. "Wrap it up good and get some thorns on there too." She pointed at the Demeter kids. "I want you to go scouting. You work well in natural environments. Don't engage the forces, but find anyone you can and block their paths. Move paths as much you can and inflict hunger on your opponents. Weaken them, disorient them. Use thorns. And take a few Athena's and clear the path through the forest. Make it easy for them."

She turned to the Hermes children. "Go in twos and try to get the flag. I bet the Ares kids will be left to guard it; you'll go in a pincer motion, surround them and crush them. Seven Hermes children, and two Athena kids. They're good, but you can distract them long enough for someone to get the flag. Linos, I mean you. use your speed." Linos looked serious for once, and nodded. "Hermes, use your stealth, God of Thieves. Don't let them know you;re there until you want to. Follow the clear path made by the Athena kids and take Pollux with you. He can bind the enemies so you can knock them out quickly." A slim, dark haired youth stepped forward, smiling at them.

Prochorus drew his sword, beckoning Sophia to him. He'd have to look after her; not that she was incompetent but this was her first time. They ran off into the woods as the Smeme discussed strategy with another child of Athena.

(OOC if it's okay with you guys, I'll control the Ares kids as Stelios has been left with them to guard the flag)

Alkimos ordered the Ares children into formation. They locked shields, staying as one, forming a circle around the flag. This was of course after Stelios had been sent back to grab a shield for himself. The children of Ares stayed on guard, Androkles surveying the area using the power of his helmet.
