Near the centre of camp this semi-large lake sits peacefully. The trees are opened over all of the camp so sunlight shines through happily. It's calm, a place to chill or use a canoe. Just beware the Naiads; they are awful flirts.

(OOC later on that first night whilst everyone else is asleep)
Stelios was still wide awake, he'd just been lying there on his bed back in the Hermes Cabin staring at the ceiling. The bed was far too soft for his liking anyway. He'd gotten up and quietly crept out of the cabin once he felt sure enough that everyone else would be asleep. As he'd left, he'd slung his rucksack over his shoulder again.
The mercenary walked slowly through the grounds until he spotted the lake. The cold night air gently rustled through the leaves of the trees and the tall grass off the beaten track itched his ankles as he waded through it. Carrying on, Stelios made his way to the lake. The moon shone brightly down on the water, making it glisten, lighting up the darkness of the night.
Sitting himself down by the lakes shore, Stelios placed his rucksack beside himself and opened it. There wasn't much in there as it was only a small sack. There was a thin tunic that Stelios only wore when it was particularly cold. Usually he just threw a cloak around his shoulders. There were also some medical supplies in his sack, a few bandages and a couple of herbs. He'd picked up a few tips from the army's medics and healers back when he was serving but he was far from an expert. He just about knew enough to badly patch himself up. Also in there was a small loaf of bread that had gone a bit stale and a slightly bruised apple.
Last but not least were some items of great sentimental value to Stelios. The first item was a necklace that had belonged to his mother. It was nothing more than a simple leather cord but on it was a small golden fish. His father Nereus had had it made for Andromache after Stelios' birth. As Nereus believed Stelios to be Poseidon's son, he felt it fitting that he should give the mother of Poseidon's child something that symbolised Poseidon as a thanks to the sea god for blessing them with a child.
The second item was a golden ring with a small trident engraved in it. Again, this had been commissioned by Nereus, purposefully with another symbol of Poseidon. Originally Nereus had worn the ring but once Stelios was old enough, Nereus entrusted it to him as if to symbolise Stelios' 'true' heritage. Since his father's death however, Stelios has not worn the ring and only keeps it as a memento to his late father.
And finally, the last item was a piece of cloth displaying a beautiful scene of Amphipolis' countryside. It had been woven by Amara, taking her many years as this piece was her particular favourite. Her attention to detail was quite astonishing. On the right was the edge of the city wall but as the image panned out, you could see down into Amphipolis' harbor. Out on the Aegean sea was a large fishing boat, hauling in its nets. Around it, some more fish seemed to majestically dance as the lept from the water. There were many levels to the water as there were many shades of green and blue (OOC fun fact! the ancient Greeks didn't actually have a word for blue, they just called it green) to truly make the sea look as if it were alive. On the left were rows of pine trees, situated on the opposite shore to the city. The green used for the trees was much deeper though the whole picture's colour had started to fade a little over time and there was a small hole in the top left of the cloth.
Stelios held the cloth out in front of him and smiled affectionately as he examined it for the billionth time. He'd always preferred the artwork on vases of the ancient Greek heroes and of battles past but as this had been Amara's favourite, he too had grown quite fond of it. As he looked back up at the lake, the image in his hands seemed to almost be the daytime scene of where he was. Maybe this was where he was meant to be? "Don't be stupid!" he shook his head, removing such thoughts.
Looking up at the night sky, Stelios let out a heavy sigh. The stars were shining ever so brightly tonight. How he wished he could go back and spend one more night lying under them with Amara. He began to slowly close his hand into a fist with the piece of cloth still inside. He rested his hand against his head and tightly shut his eyes. A few small tears began to delicately trickle down the rough skin of his cheeks. For a few moments, Stelios lost himself to his sorrow but he quickly hardened himself as a mean expression spread across his features. He rubbed his eyes as he harshly ran his thumb and index finger across them, drawing them across his face like a pincer.
He angrily bundled the cloth back into his sack and quickly retied the straps. There was so much he didn't understand about all this and so many things he wanted answering. Problem was, he wasn't one hundred percent sure if he knew all the questions he wanted answering. Letting out another huge sigh, Stelios lay back, putting his arms behind his head to rest it there. He continued to stare up at the luminous stars as the night wore on.

Stelios grumbled as a blaring horn echoed out across the grounds as equally crisp as the morning dew. The lake and the rest of the grounds looked even more stunning now it was bathed in sunlight. It brought a half smile to Stelios' face. He sat up and looked out across the sparkling water, the early morning breeze sweeping through his short hair. He closed his eyes and pondered for a moment.
He hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. He'd been awake all night as many thoughts raced through his head. Thoughts of his parents and Amara were part of the usual package that tormented his mind but now he had all these new revelations on top of all that. Apparently he was a demigod and that one of his parents was not who had claimed to be. Most likely his father, though Stelios wished it to be neither.
He'd been thrusted into a whole new world, one that was completely alien to him. Hopefully he would be able to gain answers soon but for now he'd just have to go along with things.
There was also the matter of Dareios' death. He'd died under Stelios' watch after he'd pledged to protect him. That was something that hadn't happened since he became a mercenary. During the war, Stelios had always promised his friends and comrades that they'd get out of the battle alive as they'd come to depend on his naturally superior skills. But these were promises he'd rarely been able to keep and these loses tortured him relentlessly. All Dareios' death had done was bring all these memories flooding back.
Remembering that something had been mentioned about training, Stelios got up and brushed himself down. He took the apple and bread out of his rucksack before slinging it oncce again over his shoulder. He ate as he walked. The food was perhaps not in its greatest condition but Stelios was used to such things.
Those pesty kids were probably going to be there too as well as that psycho Hermes child. Stelios groaned. Sophia seemed alright if she wasn't so uptight all the time, she seemed better when she relaxed. The young golden haired boy was odd, difficult to read at this point. As for the all singing, all dancing, spouting cryptic nonsense young man, there was definitely something off about him. Somehow he just automatically knew Stelios' name and he didn't like that, not one bit.
Continuing to eat as he walked, Stelios headed out into the grounds in search of the training arena.

(A MONTH LATER)
Prochorus sat by the lake, basking in the sun. Presumably some of his friends were there too. It was a hot day, even by Greek standards so many people were swimming. Even the naiads were out playing games. He sighed, ruffling a hand through his growing hair, thinking about the month.
(OOC: Got to go right now but I'll do a bigger post of all thew stuff he's done.)

Sophia was hunting in the woods around the lake. She was finally getting the hang if her enhanced hearing and would hear all the little noises in the woods which was helping her master hunting. The girl was chasing a particularly fast deer but had no problems locating it and outrunning it. She pointed the arrow at the animal but the creature stopped and stared at her as if it was begging her not to kill it. Sophia's heart melted and she approached the deer. Instead of running away the animal let Sophia pet it. Then it ran away.
Sophia did her day running around the lake. She was getting faster and faster. She saw Prochorus there and waved at him.

Prochorus had spent the last month getting used to camp. It actually felt good not to be chased for once. Not to be in danger. The food was nice, the cabin mates were actually friendly, though a little bitter from not being claimed. A lot of kids were. He'd spent much of his time in the sword arena. He hadn't fought Stelios again but he had improved his sword skill, so now it wasn't just that weird 'wind' thing he had going for him. He mastered many of the moves, well, maybe not mastered, but he was pulling them off. His reflexes, something he had realised every demigod had, allowed him to pull of moves and block blades no mortal ever could. Even Smeme was impressed, pushing him harder. He'd even managed to do some dodges, like lift his leg up to avoid a blade, though that was far from perfect. He'd even started with the dory spear. Something told him he liked that weapon. Smeme had taught him personally as that was her favoured weapon.
His fitness had already been fine, having been chased for a very long time now, which gave him an edge against other demigods. They'd even had monster training classes, though none of them had gone up against the real deal. But Prochorus had been able to give his advice, telling them more about beasts they'd barely encountered. He knew Eurytus and Iolus were watching him carefully, trying to determine his parentage, and whenever he mentioned his childhood, they just muttered for a while to themselves.
A naiad grinned up at him from the bottom of the lake as he looked over, fluttering her eyelashes. He'd gotten quite a few of those looks lately. The Aphrodite girls had soon discovered him. Now those were some beautiful girls! Like statues, just perfection. They'd certainly seemed impressed with him. He'd soon discovered girls could be more tenacious than a Hydra. However, as he looked over the lake, his eye caught Sophia waving at him and those girls seemed pretty insignificant.

(OOC this scene is taking place during the month that was skipped so ignore this in terms of what's going on now) Stelios once again returned to the lake as he had done every night since he'd got here. The moon was once again shining down on the water, making it sparkle. He sat himself down, placing his rucksack beside him and took out an apple he had gotten from the dining pavilion. It had been a week and things were still more or less the same for him. He'd continued to help Sophia with her swordsmanship as and when she had asked for it but mostly he had been sparring with either Smeme or Androkles. Stelios felt like he was getting the hang of this new style of combat, pushing his physical limits to fully tap into his enhanced speed and strength. His own ability with the sword had also improved slightly as he was going up against worthy opponents who knew what they were doing. Once he had finished eating, Stelios went through his usual ritual of going through the items in his rucksack. First he would examine the ring his father had given him, trying it on before removing it. Stelios still hadn't been claimed and he greatly wished that he could speak to his mother or father just one more time to ask them what they knew about his true heritage. Next, Stelios would look at his mother's necklace, the golden fish had still not lost any of its shine, nor had it tarnished. He smiled fondly as he held the jewelry in his hand, remembering his mother's warm smile. Lastly, Stelios replaced the items of his parents and removed the piece of woven cloth, smiling at it affectionately as he remembered his beloved Amara. Being at this camp reminded Stelios of how it was when he was in camp with the army and how most nights he'd sneak out to go and visit Amara. He was caught more than once and duly punished with ten lashes but it never stopped him from continuing. Stelios closed his eyes and thought back, slipping into a memory he'd forgotten he had. He was in a field just outside the city walls of Amphipolis with Amara. After having finished a picnic Amara had picked up a couple of sticks and asked if Stelios would show her how to fight. She did so in such a playful and teasing way that Stelios could not refuse. He tried to teach her the basic moves but she still just kept flailing around, stumbling over and taking cheap shots at Stelios when he wasn't looking. The memory greatly reminded him of how Sophia was when he trained with her. The young princess had improved though but in that first lesson especially, Sophia had conducted her self exactly like Amara. Stelios opened his eyes and smiled softly out over the water before he placed the objects back in his rucksack. If nothing else, the kids were growing on him a little but he remained wary of getting too close, he didn't like attachments anymore. (OOC okay scene over so you guys can just continue on now )

(OOC; Cooleo.)
Prochorus jumped back as a naiad splashed some water. "Whoops," she giggled. The demigod swatted water off himself, knowing his toga was wet.
"Thanks," he muttered. She just gave him a smirk and jumped back in. Just to be clear, naiads were a bit annoying.

Sophia approached Prochorus and smiled cheerfully at him. She liked him a lot, though she liked everyone and was being nice and friendly to all but there was something different about the young demigod, something she didn't know what exactly.
Sophia rolled her eyes as the naiads splashed him. "I see you have quite the fan club here. Do you like the attention? ", she grinned.
At the same time couple of Aphrodite daughters waved from the other shore and sent air kisses to Prochorus. Sophia grunted and scoffed , "I am trying really hard to like them but they can be so annoying and...bizarre. ", she told Prochorus.
Then continued, "They invited me at their house once and were talking about things I haven't heard before. Can you imagine, they told me that men and women lie together and...", here she lowered her voice and almost whispered, " and they're are naked! Horrible! They must be lying! Have you heard of that?"
She gave them one more unimpressed look and turned to Prochorus again. "So, getting used to the camp?"

Prochorus' eyebrows shot ip into his forehead. "Sophia, you do know what fucking is right? I bet my father has done quite a lot of it and your father too." He started laughing, rolling around on the ground. "You were so closeted," he laughed. He wiped tears from his eyes, chuckling.
"I'm still getting used to the attention. I'm used to things treating me like lunch, not like a date," he chuckled. "But yeah, it's nice. Peaceful here. I'm feeling good. Nice to be able to just train in peace." He leant forward. "You know you heard that big three thing, ages ago. What was it? Do you reckon a big three kid is here at camp?"

Sophia stared at him. What was he talking about?
"I don't know what "fucking" is. ", she said almost offended, then added, "And I really don't know why are Aphrodite daughters so obsessed with you." She pinched his arm partly playfully, partly quite spiteful because he laughed at her.
"Maybe you should teach me about this "fucking " thing because I haven't read about and I doubt my dad has done it. He is not like the rest", she added proudfully.
Sophia paused for a moment and added, "I just heard them mentioning it nothing more. Why?"

Prochorus laughed. "Oh, Sophia, what you said was dirty on so many different levels." He winked at her. "But I'd be happy to teach you when you're older. Let's say 18 and we'll try it out?" He grinned, a twinkle in his eye. He just shrugged at why they liked him so much, still grinning.
"I was just wondering if you had an idea if one of us was. Besides Iason, speak of the devil," he remarked as he came up. "No, but leave the man alone," he said, rather gently. He was in a good mood. He turned back to Sophia. "You want to see something? You too Iason?"

Sophia blushed severely once she realised she must have said something not quite ladylike and looked away from Prochorus embarrassed. "I am sorry if I have said something rude. I should behave better as a princess ".
After a short pause she faced him again and smiled, "Yes, I do want to see something."

Prochorus waved a hand. You'll get it soon, no worries." He stood, brushing grass of his toga. He caught himself staring at Sophia's legs before he turned away.
"You been in house 1 yet?" he grinned michaevously.
