"I know it doesn't bother you but you can still speculate. I am asking you as a friend and to just have some conversation with you because otherwise you will never talk.", she laughed cheerfully. Then she looked at him with eyes filled with curiosity and expectation.
She turned immediately towards Smeme when she heard her. Sophia got the dagger and held it. It felt weird but also as something she could get used to. Definitely easier than the sword. "I like it. I would like you to teach me. And what do you mean Hades saved you?"

"Hmph well that's great," Stelios remarked in response to Smeme answer about claiming, "and I'll start to have faith in the gods when they actually do something useful to help us, the whole of Greece is at war and what are they doing about it!?" anger was beginning to seep through in his tone but he let out a heavy sigh as he turned to Sophia, "maybe we can speculate some other time kid," he just looked away, feeling quite weary.

Sophia frowned and looked down. "Oh, okay. Well if you say so.". She kicked some little stone as she was looking down at her feet.

Stelios could tell he'd burst her little bubble of optimism with him but he felt it best not to get too involved with these people, he'd suffered enough loses and by the sounds of things, only more people were going to get killed.

Smeme laughed. "Sorry, Hades is like a swear word. Hades didn't save me. Athena did. And of course I'll yeah you."
She turned to Stelios. "I understand your anger. I've seen children like Prochorus and you many times. But sometimes, when you look you'll realise your parents are looking out for you... if their own way." She ran a hand over her face.
"As for Greece, they did help. They stopped having big three children. That was a massive shift in for the war. But stuff like this, look, the Fates prevent the gods interference too much. You remember Troy? Big PR disaster for the Olympians. The Fates have a tight reign. Even the gods have limits."
(OOC; after this conversation we'll finish off training and time skip and guys get more overarching plot development.)

(OOC maybe leave off the time skip until Steph gets back, don't want her falling too far behind on things, plus if Huntress said she's away for a couple of days it wouldn't hurt to hold off on skipping ahead, just a thought)
Stelios just shook his head, not convinced at any of it.

Sophia didn't give up though; she was going to have her conversation with him. "Well I personally think that Apollo is my dad because it makes most sense. Seuthes must have found me and adopted me. I guess Athena could also be my parent but despite my high education I am not some natural born genius. As of you ", she looked at him carefully, "I think you may be a Hades son. You're definitely gloomy enough. Or Ares. The aggression and being a good mercenary help a lot. I heard the centaur whispering something about a son of the big three so it could be you.".
Then she looked at Prochorus. " Or maybe him. He is also either Ares because of his master swordship or I get a feeling for Poseidon. I have to ask him about his water skills."
Then she faced Stelios again. "What would you do when or if your parent claim you? Keep hating them and leave?"

Iason spoke up at Sophia's comment. 'I'm not sure about Apollo. You're too... dark. I get the idea he prefers gold and more gold. And laughter,' he muttered.
'As for Poseidon, you've got to be joking!' He looked at Prop. 'I mean, really? Can you even swim?'

Prochorus made his way up. "What's that about a Big Three child?"
Smeme meanwhile was surveying Stelios and Prochorus with interest. "I doubt he's a Hades child, gloom not withstanding. Hades is faithful to Persephone, so his children are very rare. Also they have a certain darkness, I imagine. We haven't seen many before. I have an idea about you, Stelios. I believe it's rather obvious but if you;d rather not know." She had turned her eyes back to Sophia and Prochorus. "You two are the odd ones out. Well, Sophia, you're likely Apollo. Prochorus is... maybe Ares. He gets around quite a bit. He just doesn't have the build though." She shook her head. "Ah well. Best forget it guys. Just because Iason was claimed, doesn't mean you will be."
She made her way to the front, telling everyone to wrap up. Training was over.
Prochorus smiled at Sophia, ignoring Iason. "Maybe I'll try drowning myself, see if it takes. Poseidon tryouts."
(OOC: Stelos, finish that reply to Sophia and we time jump, okay?)

'I think Poseidon probably prefers kids who don't drown themselves in order to gain his affection,' he pointed out jokily.

Prochorus rolled his eyes. "If I was a son of Poseidon, I wouldn't drown, would I? It's a shame you were claimed. I would have liked testing your heritage. Can you even drown?"

Iason shrugged. 'Hey, tempting offer,' he responded to the drowning. 'I think I've prayed enough to the big P to avoid having to get any closer to show my devotion. But I'd be happy to bury you in return? You're depressing enough to be Hades' son; this might be the show of devotion you need for him to claim you? I can get a spade in a second, and we'll have Heracles,' he jabbed his thumb at Stelios; 'dig it for you.'

"Wow, great idea, Iason," Prochorus said sarcastically. "That degree from the The Thinkery is really paying off."
(OOC: Boom, equivalent of a contextual Greek reference.)

'Well, students at The Thinkery do learn to turn inferior arguments into superior arguments. You have a quicker tongue than I thought Prop, but you've clearly never graduated from The Thinkery. Your arguments are as ineffective as ever I say.' He smiled.
'I on the other hand am Socrates himself and benefited well from The Thinkery, Strepsiades.' He added the new nickname at the end of his response, as almost an afterthought.
(OOC: Boom!)

"Oh yes, you truly have bested me if we had to find out the exact sound of a gnat's rear end. Who wouldn't pay to know that?" He raised his dark eyebrows, turning back having seized on a new angle.
"Socrates, you say? You must tell me, did you start running from Delium before they called a general retreat or did you just want to get ahead of the game?"
